Past[]
Yukisada was born 17 years ago.[2]
At least four months before November of the present year, Yukisada underwent the process of becoming a Vessel for the Kamunabi's Core Station barrier system, through a device supplied to the Hishaku by Kasen.
Sword Bearer Assassination Arc[]
On the 14th of November, Yukisada attacked Kamunabi Headquarters alongside five of his colleagues and the Shigyu Brothers.[3] Yukisada, Bingo, Uran and another of their colleagues stayed outside the Threat Elimination Grounds on Level 1. Yukisada yawned and Uran asked if he was nervous, given he was yawning. Yukisada attempted to retort by pointing out the similarly yawning Bingo, but Uran commented that Bingo was just prone to sleeping. Yura then walked over and left to the bathroom after asking its location from a Kamunabi clerk, Yukisada following.
While there, Yukisada had trouble relieving himself and Yura asked if he was nervous. Yukisada dryly noted that Yura didn't seem to get nervous and Yura replied that he did, but it was not a concern as nervousness would come before victory; and in any case he voiced that Yukisada was the strongest fighter among the Hishaku. Returning to the others, they saw the high-collared member had drawn a spell circle for transporting them downwards. Yura counted down to the designated time but the barrier dropped a few seconds early, though the high-collared member adapted. Transported down to Level 5, the five Hishaku members came face to face with Uruha and Hakuri.[4]
One of the traitors attacked, but a slash from the floor above cut him down, a ceiling tile falling to reveal Kiri Shirakai was responsible. Yukisada then rushed in to attack, but Uruha dispatched him quickly using his sorcery Koen, kicking him through a wall and leaving him leaned against a wall in the next room, recovering.[5] While the others' battle transitioned elsewhere, three Kamunabi sorcerers including one wearing goggles advanced into the room to confront Yukisada.[6] As he prepared to stand and confront them, Yukisada declared that Yura would be king.[7]
Yukisada was then impaled by a wave of iron sand donning a metal mask that shot straight out of the ground next to him.[8] The sorcerer responsible Hagiwara quickly crawled out of the gap, and was surprised to see the Hishaku's Vessel was so young. Yukisada immediately drew a knife from his left hand and rushed forward. Hagiwara quickly retaliated, cutting off Yukisada's left arm and impaling him. Yukisada grabbed the knife with his right hand and swiped again, but Hagiwara ducked back. Yukisada then regenerated his wounds and noted he was 17, and grown-up. While surprised at his regeneration, Hagiwara noted 17 was still young.
Abruptly, Hagiwara collapsed from exhaustion and shouted for Yukisada to be decapitated. The three other sorcerers moved in but Kiri suddenly appeared to attack Yukisada, slashing her odachi into Yukisada's body. Yukisada immediately healed himself around the blade, leaving it trapped in his body, before kicking Kiri aside. Hakuri then launched a katana towards Yukisada, which he dodged. Kiri caught the katana as it sped past her and severed Yukisada's head, but Yukisada's headless body thrust the odachi out of himself towards Kiri and caught his head.
The head stated that if Yura said white was black, it was black; so if Yura had said he was the strongest, he must be. Yura then arrived and Hagiwara dragged Kiri and Hakuri away shortly before Yura disabled the other three Kamunabi sorcerers by affecting them with Magatsumi's flowers, congratulating Yukisada on a job well done. Yukisada's head smiled at the praise.[9] After Yura left to the Dungeon, Yukisada moved elsewhere in the facility, headless body still dragging his head with him.[10]
Abilities[]
Overall Abilities: As a member of the Hishaku, a small group of elite sorcerers, Yukisada is a powerful combatant. He is regarded by Yura as the strongest fighter of the Hishaku, a title Yukisada views with some degree of nervousness but also pride.[11][12]
As a sorcerer, Yukisada has accomplished the first stage of spirit energy usage, being able to use his spirit energy to strengthen his body to superhuman levels.
Regeneration: Yukisada possesses an extremely proficient healing factor. He is able to regenerate lost limbs in a matter of seconds and can remain fully conscious and capable of speech even with his head severed from his neck. In combat, he has weaponised this ability to trap weapons within his body in order to temporarily separate them from their owners.[13] It is unknown if this ability is the product of sorcery, or an inherited trait similar to that of the Kyonagi Clan.
Vessel Status: Yukisada has undergone extensive surgery, losing multiple organs and his reproductive organs, in order to become a Vessel for the barrier surrounding Kamunabi Headquarters. As a result, he has the ability to interfere with the Headquarters' barrier system, altering its properties to suit his allies' requirements. However, due to not being directly connected with the Core Station, he cannot freely modify the barrier in minute detail or identify details of those within the barrier like the Kamunabi's Vessel can.
During the Hishaku's attack on Kamunabi Headquarters, Yukisada configured the barrier from its standard settings to keep out all that were not Kamunabi to only keep out Tobimune and Enten, while capitalising on the clash between two Vessel presences disrupting the Headquarters' communications system.[14]
Equipment[]
Knife[]
