Takeru Hokazono (外薗健 Hokazono Takeru) is a Japanese manga artist and the author of the Kagurabachi manga series, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump.

About

Takeru first gained recognition at the 100th Tezuka Manga Award in 2020 when they won the top prize for their work Enten. Following this achievement, they took the next step by having both Enten and Farewell! Cherry Boy! published in the Spring 2021 issue of Jump GIGA magazine. Their presence continued to make waves as 'CHAIN' found its way into the pages of Jump GIGA's Summer 2021 edition.

In 2022, Takeru made a comeback, this time in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #19, with Madogiwa de Amu, a concise 15-page creation. Not long after that, in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #36/37, they introduced their latest one-shot: Roku no Meiyaku.

Now, Takeru is back in the limelight with Kagurabachi, a compelling narrative centered around a swordsmith father and son, offering an intriguing exploration of an uncertain future to be shaped by the art of the sword.
