Shiyumi Harima (
She is a supporting character in the Vs. Sojo Arc.
Appearance
Harima is a tall woman who stands slightly shorter than her superior Hagiwara. Her hair is medium-length and distinctly tied in two ponytails fastened with a hair tie resembling an eyeball. Harima typically dons the standard Kamunabi uniform, resembling a modern black haori kimono over a white dress shirt accompanied by black pants fastened with a black belt.
Personality
Harima is primarily a more casual figure among her squadron, bantering freely with her squadmates. She is far from reserved with her emotions, openly displaying shock upon hearing that no civilian casualties had resulted from Chihiro and Sojo's battle. In battle, Harima drops her previous more casual attitude in favour of a more serious one. Despite this, Harima still managed to spare a moment to comfort Kazane when the latter was worried over not being able to assist his comrades when they were fighting against Sojo.
Relationships
Anti-Cloud Gouger Special Forces
In general, Harima was on very good terms with her squad, talking with them casually and working well with them together.
Ikuto Hagiwara
As her captain, Harima holds a degree of respect for Hagiwara, following his commands in battle. Outside of battle, she talks more casually with him, on one occasion lampshading the spontaneity of his inclusion of Chihiro within their plans.
Kazane Machi
During their fight against Sojo, Kazane was assigned to protect Harima far away from the combat zone. Harima entrusted him to protect her, displaying her belief in the younger sorcerer. When Kazane was worried about his comrades fighting Sojo and wanted to join them, Harima calmly reminded him of his duty, and coaxed him to stay by reminding him that he was their 'secret weapon'.
Chihiro Rokuhira
While not interacting much with him personally, Harima respected Chihiro's efforts to hold off Sojo and his role in preventing civilian casualties during their battle, as well as the information he provided regarding Cloud Gouger.
Plot
Vs. Sojo Arc
On the 7th of October, during the climax of Chihiro Rokuhira's battle with Genichi Sojo, Harima used Gansui to erect a defensive wall of earth to block Sojo's Mei. Her squadmates (minus Kazane) as well as Togo Shiba and Azami also arrived on scene, causing Sojo to choose to retreat by summoning a large cloud of mist using Kou to obscure his position.[1]
Within five days afterwards, Harima and the Anti-Cloud Gouger Special Forces investigated the site of Sojo's base as reported by Norisaku Madoka through Shiba's interrogation, but Sojo had already evacuated it.[2]
Five days later, on the 12th of October, Harima would arrive with her squadmates minus Kasahara at the hospital where Chihiro was being treated. As Kugara caused a ruckus, Harima quickly shushed him. When Uzuki brought up how Chihiro's actions resulted in zero civilians being injured, Harima was surprised, having not known this information. She asked Chihiro how that could have happened, and Chihiro mentioned he redirected the lightning towards himself using his blade, prompting Kugara's adulation.[3]
After Hagiwara made a deal with Chihiro as to how they would approach Sojo, the group moved to the hospital's roof. Hearing about Cloud Gouger's strength, Harima requested Azami to come with them as well, but Azami refused, stating the Kamunabi had several priorities on their plate. The group then hashed out a plan with Chihiro's help.[4]
Two days after that, on the 14th of October, all six members of the Anti-Cloud Gouger Special Forces would confront Sojo as he exited a bathhouse.[5] Harima immediately used Gansui to launch portions of earth from the ground, creating an airborne battlefield. Harima held back with Kazane guarding her, as the other four members attacked Sojo. [6]
As Uzuki and Kasahara restrained Sojo and Hagiwara and Kugara launched him off the island, Kasahara retrieving Cloud Gouger, Sojo abruptly shot back to his blade, having remotely activated Mei while he was cloaked with a previously used Mei. Sojo then made use of his lightning cloak's rapid speed to rush up to Harima, dicing apart a large section of her head and shoulder. Losing control of the portions of earth, the squad would then fall into the ocean below.[7] Harima was confirmed to have died following the battle.[8]
