“It was all in vain! Your mother's death, your escape, all of it!” ― The Mohawk Henchmen mocking Char.

The Mohawk Henchmen were sorcerers under the employ of Genichi Sojo, serving as leaders of Sojo's garrison at his Kaburato Castle laboratory. They retrieved Char Kyonagi while Sojo himself battled Chihiro Rokuhira and later defended Kaburato Castle against Chihiro's attack, but were cut down and killed.

They are minor antagonists in the Vs. Sojo Arc.

Appearance

The Mohawk Henchmen are two men of average-to-above-average height. They both wear black suit vests over white shirts with black ties, with black pants and shoes completing the ensemble. Black ropes are tied around the forearm portion of their shirts, and their suit vests flare upwards to surround their necks, this portion being yellow.

The Mohawk Henchmen are almost completely bald. One of them has a single mohawk-like structure with a number of spherical objects running across his head, while the other has two mohawk-like structures running across his head in parallel that moreso resembles standard mohawks.

Personality

The Mohawk Henchmen are cruel and callous individuals, casually breaking Char's leg to watch her regenerate out of cruel amusement. They later taunted Char about the futility of her escape and her mother's sacrifice for little reason other than to instil despair into her and laugh. In battle, they are similarly cocky and prone to taunting, viewing Chihiro as little threat during his attack due to having been struck by Sojo's lightning.

Relationships

Genichi Sojo

The Mohawk Henchmen are loyal to Sojo, but not above asking casual questions to him. After Sojo had returned to the car where they and Char were in, they casually asked Sojo how they would proceed. Later, one of the henchmen asked about Datenseki and the experiments, Sojo patiently explaining the details to him.

Plot

Past

The Mohawk Henchmen were affiliated with Genichi Sojo when Char's mother helped Char escape Sojo's laboratory sometime during October.

Vs. Sojo Arc

On the 7th of October, while Sojo left to battle Chihiro Rokuhira, the Mohawk Henchmen pursued Char, who was escaping Cafe Haru Haru with Hinao. The henchmen found the two, grabbed them and knocked Hinao unconscious, leaving her bleeding in an alleyway. They proceeded to tear a leg off Char and give it to several more of Sojo's henchmen in order to trick Chihiro during his battle against Sojo, while the mohawk henchmen themselves entered the back seat of a car with Char herself. They tore off her legs to watch them regenerate.

Not long after, Sojo landed on the roof of the car and entered the window of the seat next to the driver. The henchmen asked if Sojo had mastered Cloud Gouger, though Sojo replied with a shaking hand that he needed to deepen his understanding. The henchmen noted that with the material (Char) back, they could resume the plan, Sojo confirming the plan 'to surpass Kunishige Rokuhira'. The single-mohawked henchman asked if Sojo would overlook the new Enchanted Blade and Sojo replied in the negative, indicating his desire to talk with Chihiro more.

Sojo would later move his base of operations to Kaburato Castle, where Datenseki experiments involving usage of Char's flesh continued. Around the 12th of October, the curious single-mohawked henchman asked about Datenseki, and Sojo patiently explained that it is a mineral discovered during the Seitei War, and only 250 kilograms were known to exist. When spirit energy was imbued into Datenseki, it was amplified to the point where it cannot be contained within the body, like the Enchanted Blades, though this energy could not be contained by the body, which would explode. Kunishige was the only one in history able to render Datenseki usable through the Enchanted Blades. As the newest experiments began, the single-mohawked henchman wondered if fattening Char up would be more efficient in obtaining her flesh. Sojo replied that they just had to cut it off multiple times.

On the 14th of November, Sojo was out on a bath, and the Mohawk Henchmen were guarding the stairs leading down to the laboratory. Chihiro was scoping the area out from above, but the Visor Sorcerer surprised him from behind, Chihiro leaping down. The Plant Sorcerer leapt up to attack, though as Chihiro dodged and sent a Kuro back, the weak right-handed attack was easily blocked by the Plant Sorcerer's blade. The Samurai Helmet Sorcerer then attacked and slammed Chihiro into a wall, the chuckling Mohawk Henchmen commenting that they didn't need to do anything.

The single-mohawked henchman shouted that Chihiro looked to be on his last legs after taking Sojo's lightning. The double-mohawked henchman noted Chihiro must have come to die. In a swift motion Chihiro cut the lights using Kuro and escaped. After the backup lights were turned on, the double-mohawked henchman ordered the guards to pursue Chihiro and take his Enchanted Blade, advising them that it was the perfect chance now that he was weakened and nearly dead, even if he had an Enchanted Blade. The laboratory scientists asked about the situation and the mohawk henchmen replied everything was under control.

The Mohawk Henchmen later went into the laboratory to watch the experiments. The single-mohawked henchman noted Char's mother had done some impressive actions when she escaped, the double-mohawked henchman recalling she had killed several people, taken matches and set fire to a large portion of the laboratory. The two cackled that they had rebuilt the equipment anyway and retrieved Char, mockingly telling Char that everything her mother had done was pointless. Outside, several guards shouted that all the outside guards were dead. The single-mohawked henchman was surprised Chihiro was still moving and the double-mohawked henchman grinned that it had been a while since they had gone all-out. The two activated Demon Cloak, but Chihiro sped down the stairs to the lab and summarily decapitated both henchmen.

Abilities

Overall Abilities: Given they were trusted by Sojo to lead the sorcerer guard force at Kaburato Castle, the Mohawk Henchmen can be assumed to be powerful individuals.

As sorcerers, the Mohawk Henchmen have naturally accomplished the first stage of spirit energy usage, being able to use their spirit energy to strengthen their body to superhuman levels.

Sorcery

Demon Cloak (鬼 (き) 装 (そう) , Kisō): The Mohawk Henchmen's shared sorcery. When active, white oni-like masks cover their heads, with their mohawks changing slightly in appearance. The single-mohawked henchmen's spheres turn into white and red spikes, while the double-mohawked henchmen's two lines of hair turn into spikes, one white, one red.

Their abilities of this sorcery are unknown, but the henchmen resorted to it when preparing to confront Chihiro Rokuhira. However, Chihiro decapitated them in an instant using Nishiki before they could move to attack.
