The Korogumi (爻龍組 (こうろうぐみ) , Kōrōgumi) is a Yakuza group that has assumed control of a city outside Tokyo, and were receiving support from the Hishaku.

They serve as minor antagonists in the Vs. Sojo Arc.

History[]

The Korogumi was a Yakuza group known for its involvement in violence and the exertion of influence over both territory and wealth within the city they held control of. This organization used public displays of hanged bodies of those connected to the Anti-Korogumi Movement—a faction that opposes the criminal organization—on a torii gate entrance, intended to ruthlessly dissuade opposition. The leader of this yakuza faction is prepared to resort to violence and intimidation in pursuit of their objectives. They maintain ties with a group of sorcerers known as the Hishaku, who support their activities in response for financial payments.

Chihiro and Shiba entered the city the Korogumi controlled after hearing rumours of their connection to the Hishaku. While originally planning to negotiate with them, the two then witnessed a public hanging of Anti-Korogumi Movement members, and Chihiro decided to attack the Korogumi base instead. Chihiro used Enten's Kuro and Nishiki techniques to wipe out the guards in the base's interior while Shiba took care of the outside guards, Chihiro leaving the Korogumi leader alive in order to interrogate him.[1]

Chihiro asked about the Hishaku as Shiba walked in and freed a hostage, but just as the Korogumi leader decided to answer a tree burst out of his body, quickly filling the room, with Shiba teleporting the hostage out as Chihiro cut down any vines coming their way. Chihiro and Shiba surmised a Hishaku sorcerer must have planted a trap-like spell in the Korogumi leader's body, and resigned themselves to head back to Tokyo after failing to find much information.[2]
