This is the official page for the spoiler policy of Kagurabachi Wiki. This policy explains what a spoiler is, how it affects the wiki, how to talk about them, and other important information. Before making any contributions to the wiki, all users, regardless of position or status, are expected to understand and abide by all policies. The wiki may block you if you repeatedly violate these rules after receiving a warning.

Certain policies may be changed or updated based on general majority consensus. Anyone who disputes with a policy is allowed to suggest modifications, which may be arranged through discussions or by contacting an active administrator.

On this wiki, we add information from new chapters once they are officially released, and do not add information from unofficial spoilers and scanlations. You may be unsure about when, where, and how chapters are officially released and how to tell official releases from spoilers, so this page is here to explain the differences and rules.

It is helpful to know right off the bat that spoilers, in this context, refer solely to content that has not been officially released. As stated on the main page, this wiki covers all published plot points in the series and does not use any sort of markings for spoilers. Thus, if you are not caught up to the manga, you will likely be "spoiled" by major plot points, so we encourage you to browse this site at your own risk.

Rules Rundown

  • Do not add information from a new chapter to any other article, other than the article of the chapter (titled 'Chapter ####'), until the chapter is officially available in English, both from MANGA Plus and VIZ Media.
    • The official release platform is under the pages of Shonen Jump Magazine.
  • Do not upload images from a new chapter until the chapter's official release. Afterwards, images should preferably be taken directly from the official Japanese and English (raw) version.
  • An article for a new chapter can be created when a release date is officially confirmed.
    • Do not add information based on spoilers to the article.
    • If the complete chapter is unofficially released in English, the chapter article can be updated only with the following information: Japanese Title, Cover Page, Characters, as well as Chapter Notes based on visually verifiable information. Please do not use any spoilers from text-based postings (such as from YouTube videos or Reddit). Edits containing spoiler information will be immediately undone. Repeated additions of spoiler material will result in warnings and blocks if the warnings are ignored.
  • Linking to illegal scanlation sites is prohibited by FANDOM policy.

Spoilers: What are they?

A spoiler refers to any information that reveals crucial narrative or story elements that certain readers may prefer not to know in order to fully enjoy the original material. It is essential that this information be presented without the reader's prior awareness. Spoilers can include significant events like the demise of a prominent character or a surprising plot twist, and they can be conveyed through visual or verbal means.

In the context of Kagurabachi, the term "spoilers" can have two distinct interpretations. Firstly, it can denote plot details that readers who are not up to date with the series are unaware of. This wiki provides comprehensive coverage of the series, encompassing all plot points from the beginning to the present. Typically, spoilers are not concealed or specially marked in articles. Therefore, if you are not caught up with the series and wish to avoid spoilers, it is advisable to browse this site cautiously.

Secondly, the term "spoilers" can also refer to information regarding plot points before their official release. Chapters of Kagurabachi are officially released digitally in Japan, usually on Wednesdays, following a monthly schedule on the Shonen Jump app. However, even before the official release, a premium preview of the next chapter becomes available on the same day. Consequently, some unofficial scanlators may release their translations ahead of the official chapter release.

When individuals obtain the chapter in advance, particularly through premium access, they may share limited information online, such as a chapter summary or a few scanned panels. Within the fandom, this is typically what is meant by "spoilers."

Scanlations

Certain groups obtain early copies and scans of the chapter, subsequently creating scanlations by digitally replacing the Japanese text with an English translation before releasing the translated chapter pages online. The quality of these scanlations can vary significantly. Some high-quality groups invest effort in cleaning the scanned pages and collaborate with reputable translators to produce accurate translations. Conversely, lower-quality groups may release scanlations that appear rough and feature inadequate translations, which may even be incomplete. Typically, skilled translators work with scans sourced directly from the original Japanese chapters, whereas lesser groups tend to rely on Chinese or Korean versions, resulting in less precise translations.

If you happen to be reading a Kagurabachi chapter on a website other than Shonen Jump and it was posted before the weekly schedule on Mondays, you are likely reading a scanlation. To verify the official release schedule, you may refer to the countdown timer on the main page of this wiki fandom.

Why do we follow the official Release Schedule?

In the past, this wiki used to incorporate information from scanlations as soon as they were available prior to the official release of new chapters. However, we have now adopted a policy of waiting for the chapter to be officially released for several reasons:

  1. Prohibition of Spoilers: This wiki has long prohibited the posting of information from spoilers. This is because spoilers often provide incomplete or even false information, leading to potential misunderstandings.
  2. Universal Access to Official Releases: With the new publishing format, the officially released chapters are now accessible to everyone worldwide, free of charge.
  3. Decline in Scanlation Quality: Prominent scanlation groups that consistently provided high-quality translations decided to discontinue translating Shonen Jump titles in order to support the availability of free official releases. Consequently, the quality of scanlations found online has become highly inconsistent, resulting in increased mistranslations and potential misconceptions.
  4. Shortened Timeframe: Previously, scanlations used to be released as early as three-five days, or even a weekly earlier before the official chapter release. However, due to crackdowns and arrests by Japanese law enforcement, the timeframe has significantly reduced. Currently, scanlations typically emerge only two days prior to the official chapter release. As a result, there is minimal time gap between the fandom's awareness of new developments and the wiki's documentation of them.

Adhering to the official release schedule does not imply that we prioritize localized choices made by Shonen Jump. If we come across instances where spellings or translations have been localized, we will make corrections to ensure the utmost accuracy. For instance, even if Shonen Jump translates a character's name, we will continue to use the transliterated version, as we have always done. Our team of editors has access to Japanese releases, which enables them to determine any disparities between a character's name in Japanese and their official English name.

Furthermore, we do not prohibit the use of scanlations to contribute information to the wiki, as long as the information is added after the chapter's official release and you are confident in the accuracy of the unofficial translation. However, we strongly encourage you to support the official release by purchasing a subscription or volumes to enjoy the entire series through authorized channels.

Wiki Spoilers

Kagurabachi Wiki is dedicated to gathering substantial information on the manga series Kagurabachi in order to create a comprehensive and instructive encyclopedia. And its connected media, ranging from plot elements to gaming.

Having said that, practically every entry in the Kagurabachi Wiki contains unmarked mainspace series spoilers. We dissuade individuals from browsing our wiki if they want to avoid being spoiled, especially from character profiles through chapter storylines. Unmarked spoilers may also exist in discussion areas such as blog posts, message boards, and chat pages. Users should explore our wiki at their own risk, as indicated on this page.

Rules for Spoilers

Since spoilers are such potentially polarizing issues, we have developed a set of guidelines that all users must follow below. Noncompliance with these guidelines may result in a warning, and if it continues, the wiki may ban the offender.
  • Spoilers must not be marked in articles, discussion, blog posts, message boards, or chat pages. Nothing is off-limits for discussion, and an editor is not responsible for keeping track of it. The bulk of mainspace articles include spoilers, including but not limited to those involving characters, chapters, items, weapons, locales, and so on. If you wish to avoid being spoiled, we recommend thoroughly reading the wiki.
  • A possible spoiler may not be revealed in the opening few lines of a section or article. If you come across something similar, please alter the content to avoid any opening spoilers or notify an active administrator on their message wall.
  • Despite the fact that the wiki may include a lot of spoilers, we encourage users to be courteous of other users who may not want to be spoiled. This includes not directly revealing spoilers in idle chat anywhere on the wiki.
  • Furthermore, user page content is entirely up to the user. It is up to the individual user to decide whether to tag spoilers when they occur on their page. Browse other users' sites at your own risk.
  • It is prohibited to include leaked or undisclosed storyline facts about a media subject before they are officially revealed. This might result in a ban from the wiki.
  • Do not complain about the wiki by emailing another user or an administrator, or by initiating a debate anyplace on the wiki. We understand that being spoiled is socially undesirable and hurtful, especially in a narrative like Kagurabachi related ones. However, policy pages like this one are there to inform users and dissuade them from complaining.

Some parts of this policy are based off the One Piece Spoiler Rules.
