Ibuki Misaka ( () (さか) 伊武基 (いぶき) Misaka Ibuki) was the former bearer of the Enchanted Blade Cloud Gouger during the Seitei War. 15 years after the war ended, Hokuto of the Hishaku killed Ibuki, around the same time that they killed Kunishige Rokuhira.[2]

Appearance

Ibuki was a tall and muscular man with light-colored hair that spiked upwards. He wore fingerless gloves with three straps each and black pants. When confronting Akemura Soga, Ibuki was shirtless.

In his youth, Ibuki wore a white shirt and a black jacket over it, the kanji 天上天下 emblazoned on the back.

After the war ended, he grew out of shape, causing him to lose his muscular figure.

Relationship

Natsuki Misaka

Ibuki was very close with his brother Natsuki in his youth. The two were undefeated together in their hometown, being gifted swordsmen who could crush anyone in their path. When the Seitei War broke out, they had both ventured to Tokyo to fight in the Seitei War, but while Ibuki was entrusted with an Enchanted Blade, Cloud Gouger, Natsuki never was, having been passed over for Uruha during Kumeyuri's selection. Ibuki commented that weakness meant defeat and the two brothers went their separate ways.

Natsuki was distant from Ibuki, and viewed him negatively for losing his will to fight after the war. After Ibuki was killed by the Hishaku, Natsuki coldly viewed that his brother had been right: those who grew weak were defeated. Nevertheless, he was still devastated when he went to his brother's residence after his death, and the two katana he uses in the present day bear a tassel of striking similarity to the one on the katana Ibuki had used in his final battle; it is likely Natsuki had taken it as part of his dual blades.

Plot

Past

Prior to the Seitei War, Ibuki was already renowned as a master swordsman, as was his younger brother Natsuki.[3] When the Seitei War broke out, the Ibuki brothers headed to Tokyo, where Ibuki was entrusted with Cloud Gouger. Kunishige Rokuhira retrieved the blade following the Seitei War's conclusion.[4][5]

Soon after the war's end, Ibuki, with the other sword bearers, fought and defeated Akemura Soga after he committed genocide towards the islanders with Malediction.

After the war, Ibuki lost his form and his desire to fight. 15 years after the war, Ibuki was killed by Hokuto of the Hishaku. Natsuki took the sword his brother had used as his own from then on as one of his two blades.[6]

Abilities

Overall Abilities: As the former bearer of the Enchanted Blade Cloud Gouger and a veteran combatant of the Seitei War, Ibuki was a powerful individual. During the war, he gained fame on par with Seiichi Samura.

Ibuki has accomplished the first stage of spirit energy usage, being able to use his spirit energy to strengthen his body to superhuman levels. Due to having formed a Lifelong Contract with the Enchanted Blade Cloud Gouger, he is unable to use sorcery.

Combat Prowess

Master Swordsman: Ibuki was an extremely skilled swordsman, being one of the six Enchanted Blade bearers who fought and helped achieve victory during the Seitei War. Even prior to wielding an Enchanted Blade, he, alongside his younger brother, Natsuki Misaka, were undefeated in their hometown.
