“Duty” (
Summary[]
In a flashback to when Hakuri was eight years old, he is shown grieving his grandfather's death at the Sazanami cemetery, accompanied by his siblings, Tenri and Soya, and their father, Kyora Sazanami. Kyora expresses his gratitude to his late father for his dedication and gathers his children. He explains that he has inherited a special power from their grandfather, a power that is passed down from one clan head to the next. Kyora tells his children that eventually, this power will be passed on to one of them.
Hakuri notices a mask on the podium and asks if they will need to wear it. Kyora explains that wearing the mask signifies being the head of the Sazanami Clan and the manager of the Rakuzaichi's storeroom. However, he reveals that transferring the clan's special sorcery skill is not a simple process but requires a strong bond among the Sazanami family members. Kyora then embraces his children and asks if they love him. They respond together that they do. Kyora reassures them that their special connection means they will never truly be separated.
In the present, Hakuri confronts his older brother, Soya Sazanami, urging Chihiro to proceed with the original plan. Chihiro notices Hakuri's changed demeanor and prepares to face his brother, willing to risk his life. Meanwhile, Tenri goes wild against Shiba, showing his new power by moving rapidly and keeping pace with Shiba’s teleportation.
As Tenri unleashes a barrage of blades, Chihiro Rokuhira intervenes, using the ice ability of the Cloud Gouger to freeze Tenri’s weapons. Chihiro questions Shiba about the source of Tenri’s Enchanted Blade-like powers, and Shiba reveals that Tenri is wielding a stone-like object. Chihiro identifies it as the Datenseki, which is granting Tenri his powers.
Chihiro recalls the Hishaku Leader’s comments about aiding the Sazanami clan with auction preparations and realizes Genichi Sojo’s involvement. He understands that using the raw Datenseki is dangerous and could be fatal for Tenri. Chihiro attempts to reason with Tenri, who is determined to fulfill his role as the Rakuzaichi's protector, despite knowing his fate. Chihiro concludes that he must defeat Tenri and grieve his loss afterward. Meanwhile, Hakuri and Soya prepare to begin their battle, chanting Isou.
