What You Need to See ( () るべきモノ Mirubeki Mono) is the one hundred and second chapter of the manga series Kagurabachi, written and illustrated by Takeru Hokazono.

Summary[]

Samura remarks that Yura has changed his plans significantly, and Yura says he had done so 'just in case', and for a good reason, seeing as Samura had changed his own mind and veered quite significantly from his previous stance. He descends to the ground and internally notes that there are no civilians nearby, before asking if Samura had seen a different future, which Samura affirms. Yura states he had changed his mind after speaking with the Master Swordsman, noting that everyone still called him by his title and wondering if it was for the sake of his dignity or some other reason.

Yura brings up how everyone had voiced that the Master Swordsman must have lost his mind and was overwhelmed by his sword's power, that it was a tragic accident that he had never intended for, but tells Samura and Chihiro that they can forget that notion, as the Master Swordsman had done so willingly. Disregarding whether the two choose to believe it or not, Yura voices that he will free the Master Swordsman. Samura tightens his grip on Tobimune while Yura notices the Master Swordsman has continued to stop invading his body, likely to observe his intentions. He decides internally to prove his beliefs by battle, with the two Enchanted Blade wielders serving as worthy opponents.

Continuing, Yura reveals that Malediction had been the Master Swordsman's deliberate action to protect the nation, and that power should be used to bring order to the chaotic world of the present, stating that Kunishige had made the wrong choice. Chihiro stares on coldly as Yura declares Shinuchi is the power the world requires and unsheathes a fraction of the blade, but Samura is adamant that the situation will end right now. Samura internally notes that evacuation of the area has not yet been completed, before a feather and black goldfish float next to Yura only for Samura and Chihiro to appear right beside him, Tobimune and Enten at the ready. In an instant the two Enchanted Blades slice into Yura's body, Yura gritting his teeth as he holds Magatsumi vertically and briefly recalling from a moment from his past where he stood among collapsing buildings, and activates Centipede.

The resulting construct stretches out in a wide ring around Yura, and as he slams Magatsumi blade back into its sheathe, a shockwave blasts out from Yura's position in all directions, cracking the ground. Samura immediately notices the technique as similar to what the Master Swordsman used 18 years ago as he is hit, sunglasses cracking. Sensing something, Samura turns and sees the shockwave rushing towards a nearby restaurant. It is noted that the shockwaves ravaging Samura's body reach up to 300 metres away, and Samura sees the patrons within the restaurant in range of the blast. With Samura's sight now joining his remaining highly honed senses in prowess, he can easily see that the patrons are about to die, and Samura turns towards them while Yura watches for an opening.

Shiba saves two patrons from Centipede

As the window glass cracks, Shiba appears in the restaurant and points at Samura, telling him to focus. In an instant, Shiba teleports all of the patrons out before the restaurant interior is destroyed by the shockwaves. Shiba internally comments that Samura's eyes are a liability and he should focus on what he needs to see, while Shiba himself evacuates anyone in danger. Samura turns back to Yura, only to see Chihiro, also heavily impacted by Centipede, still maintains his razor-sharp determination as he stares at Yura and readies Enten. Remembering Chihiro's declaration to destroy Shinuchi and Chihiro's request for Samura to help heal the wounds he would take, Samura activates Suzaku, flames erupting from the end of Tobimune onto the ground and rushing towards Chihiro.

An inflamed, healing Chihiro levels Enten at Yura (whose wounds from Tobimune and Enten have disappeared) once more and droplets of water rise into the air, as Chihiro recalls memories: of the 200,000 lives destroyed by Malediction, of Shiba telling him of his father's regret of forging the blades, of Yura's declaration that power should be wielded to maintain absolute authority, of his father's death. Chihiro states he will not let tragedy happen again and leaps at Yura, who hastily blocks with Magatsumi. Flames lap in Chihiro's wake as he shouts that they will end things right then and there, and the shadows indicating Yura's Magatsumi-connection to Soga briefly fade away.
