“No need to freak out. Look...we'll be fine.” Bingo's laid back attitude, even in combat.[source]

Bingo ( (びん) () Bingo) is a member of the Hishaku. On the 14th of November, he participated in the Hishaku's attack on Kamunabi Headquarters.

He is one of the main antagonists of the Sword Bearer Assassination Arc alongside the rest of the Hishaku as a whole.

Appearance

Bingo is a tall, mostly bald man, with two sideburns. He wears a white shirt with tassels attached to his rolled up sleeves, black pants and tie.

When activating his sorcery, Bingo's head takes the appearance of a lion dancer head similar to the ones conjured by his sorcery.

Personality

Bingo is a generally even-tempered, lethargic person, often keeping calm even in tense situations. Despite being in the heart of enemy territory with his colleagues, Bingo was content to lie back and relax to take a nap, and when preparing to descend deeper, he remarked for the Kamunabi to 'bring it on'. Despite seeing one of his comrades get slammed through a wall and another of his colleagues worry at the sight, Bingo was quick to reassure his worried colleague and retaliate with his own sorcery. He is displeased at the taste of eating people using his sorcery, but brushes it off with little complaint as he has no choice. Bingo has a habit of being sleepy in a variety of situations, which may be related to his sorcery.

Plot

Sword Bearer Assassination Arc

On the 14th of November, Bingo attacked Kamunabi Headquarters alongside five of his colleagues and the Shigyu Brothers.[1] Bingo, Uran and two more of their colleagues stayed outside the Threat Elimination Grounds on Level 1. Bingo was napping, only woken up momentarily when Uran called him out for his sleepiness. After flipping a coin with an elderly Kamunabi clerk, Yura left to the bathroom, the nervous colleague following. The high-collared Hishaku prepared a transport spell circle while they were gone, and when they came back, the five prepared to move out, Bingo commenting for them to 'bring it on'.

Five seconds before the designated time, the Core Station traitor lowered a portion of the barrier around where the Hishaku were. Despite the off-schedule timing, the Hishaku member who had drawn the circle acted immediately and sent the group down, where they ended up at Level 5, facing Yoji Uruha and Hakuri Sazanami, with two Kamunabi traitors on Uruha and Hakuri's other side.[2] One of the traitors attacked, but a slash from the floor above cut him down, a ceiling tile falling to reveal Kiri Shirakai was responsible. The previously-nervous Hishaku member rushed in but Uruha dispatched him quickly. The high-collared Hishaku member was unnerved but Bingo calmed him down, unleashing a large Mako head charm which Uruha slashed through. As Uruha sped forward, Yura drew a sword from a book the high-collared Hishaku held up and clashed with Uruha, before Bingo summoned more smaller Mako charms around the area.[3]

After Yura ordered them to proceed with the mission, the high-collared Hishaku member tossed a seed into the air which unfolded into a wall of trees. He then left with Bingo and Uran and the three proceeded further into Level 5.[4] Bingo smashed through a wall with his head transformed into a form similar to one of his heads and devoured several Kamunabi agents. Uran snuck up on another agent and teasingly commented he was already collapsing, before exhaling cold breath at him shortly before he froze entirely. She idly noted that she thought the Kamunabi were meant to be strong, and these agents were nothing more than cute. The high-collared Hishaku member, following through the hole Bingo had made, replied that Uran and Bingo were just too strong, to Uran's delight.

Bingo's head shot forth to bite off the head of the frozen agent, unnerving Uran, who asked if it tasted good. Bingo's head transformed back to normal as he wondered if Uran ever listened to his replies that they never tasted good, but he had to eat to use his abilities. Uran commented that overeating would just lead him to get sleepy again. Bingo noted while these agents were weak, elites should be showing up soon, so he had to fuel up while he could. As more Kamunabi sorcerers entered the area, Bingo yawned as he told Uran to prepare herself, Uran chuckling that she was right to believe Bingo would get sleepy.[5]

Ikuto Hagiwara then entered the fray before the two Kamunabi elites could engage. Uran immediately froze him and Bingo transformed his head to chomp down, but Hagiwara used his sorcery and iron sand to burst free from the ice and impale Bingo's head. Hagiwara then fell to the ground, weighted due to destroying one of Bingo's heads, but focused on eliminating the Hishaku's Vessel, performing a large-scale scan to detect the Hishaku member's location and sending the iron sand form donning Kugara's mask to impale him, surprising Bingo.[6]

Abilities

Overall Abilities: As a member of the Hishaku, a small group of elite sorcerers, Bingo is a powerful combatant.

As a sorcerer, Bingo has accomplished the first stage of spirit energy usage, being able to use his spirit energy to strengthen his body to superhuman levels.

Sorcery

Mako ( () (こう) Makō, VIZ Translation Note: Demon Bite): Bingo's sorcery allows him to create lion dancer heads of varying sizes and massive mouths with great destructive force.[7] While they can be cut through with ease, as demonstrated by Uruha and Kiri, they cause their destroyer to be weighed down by a temporary invisible force which increases the more heads are destroyed.[8] Yura has compared these heads to lucky charms.

Bingo can also transform his head into a form resembling the charm, which can easily devour enemies. Bingo has stated he must eat enemies in order to use his sorcery, and Uran has noted he becomes sleepy after overeating. Bingo has voiced his displeasure at the foul taste of eating people on occasion.[9] Injuring his transformed head causes a weighing-down effect much like the summoned charms.[10]
